Hello, The Philippine mongrel (dog) and native cats are taking center stage on October 1, World Animal Day, thanks to the animal welfare group Compassion and Responsibility for Animals (CARA) Phils. There will be a dog and cat show titled “Proudly Pinoy” exclusively for our dear native dogs and cats to be held at the Malate Church car park. What’s wonderful about this is that Pinoy dogs and cats are finally getting their fair share of attention and respect. My two canine friends are Pinoy dogs, and I am absolutely crazy about this breed (with due respect to other breeds, I love them too. It’s just that, I’m very partial to Pinoy animals). Here’s the schedule: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. – Proudly Pinoy Contest 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. – Animal Blessing 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – Rabies vaccination and veterinary consultation So block off your calendars, I will post further announcement from other groups in the coming days. I am just so excited to tell you of this news and also to help you prepare your dogs and cats in advance. If you want to register your dogs and cats, please let me know and I will link you up to CARA (http://www.caraphil.org/) Important: Please put the dogs on leash, and the cats perhaps in kitty carrier. Please bring water for the animals (and for you too ), newspaper and plastic bags for their poopoo (just in case). See you all there!
Thank you very much for your time. ****props to MDS
