Friends, Forgive me for pestering your inboxes with this message. I just felt the need to forward this to all of you, especially to cat lovers out there. If you feel I've been such a pest in shoving this advocacy down your throat, I would understand if you put me in the spam list. Really. I initially considered adopting these two three-legged kitties. You know me, I have a soft heart for the "utterly" helpless ones, but my two canine friends are like Israeli army and Hezbollah, imagine the stress these two lovable cats would have to endure. You can pass it on to friends who might be interested. If you need to see photos of Kate, check out http://mefindhome.blogspot.com. A warm home for these two wonderful companions. Many, many thanks for your time. -Marlet (askalfreak) ********************* Dear animal lovers, Here is a rescue photo of the kitten whom we have now named "Frankie" (after US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt who was able to achieve great things even as he was wheelchair-bound) . Veterinarians said that, from the looks of the wound, Frankie may have been walking around like this for days before PAWS volunteer Grace Alera rescued him from the streets of Fairview, QC last week. We ask everyone to excuse our sending the not-so-pleasant rescue photos (note: that's Frankie's foreleg bones that you see sticking out..) Please be assured that Frankie is now doing well at the shelter with his injured foreleg completely amputated. Now, we have two three-legged cats at the shelter - Frankie and Kate. This is a renewed call for cat-lovers out there who may be looking at adopting a / another cat. Because they are "special", Frankie and Kate may have a little difficulty getting adopted immediately unless we take extra efforts to tell everyone we know about their stories. Despite their obviously traumatic experiences, both cats are extremely sociable and very affectionate - they truly deserve to have a second chance at a good life. Preferably as exclusively- indoor cats from now on. Should you decide to open your hearts and home to either Kate or Frankie or any of the animals in our shelter who are in need of special care, please contact us right away at philpaws@yahoo.com. Your application will be avaluated like all the other adoption applicants'. Please consider that, right now, there aren't even any 'applicants' to take in Kate or Frankie. Maybe today will be their lucky day. Perhaps you or a friend of yours whom you forward this email to, may end up being the lucky guardian to either one of these special cats. But you will never know unless you decide to visit them at the shelter or do the next best thing: forward this email. Thank you all ye kind people. - The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) www.paws.org. ph "Make Adoption Your First Option. Hello, Attached is a flyer of a pup who needs a home. She is only about 2 months old, and according to her guardian has a very sweet disposition. However, because her family has been taking care of several dogs in their house in Quezon City, she is currently looking for someone who might want to adopt this cute and adorable creature. But, commitment is the key here because she cannot move her hind legs. She might need a wheelchair when she grows up, additional attention and medical care, plus lots of love and understanding. Should you be interested you can contact the numbers in the flyer or me (0917-8004398). Kindly, kindly, forward this to your friends or someone you know might want to take her in. Thank you so much!
