Microsoft To Unveil New Search Engine
Microsoft Corp. plans Tuesday to officially launch its updated and renamed Internet search engine, the latest step in a massive effort to make headway against market leaders Yahoo Inc. and Google Inc.
Live Search had previously been available in test form and is the successor to MSN Search, Microsoft's current search engine. It ranks a distant third in U.S. popularity after Yahoo and Google, according to the most recent data from Nielsen/Net Ratings.

Nintendo to debut Wii in North America
Nintendo on Thursday announced its next-generation games console, the Wii, will be launched first in North America – going on sale on November 19, two days after the US debut of the rival Sony PlayStation 3.
Nintendo said the recommended retail price would be $249.99 – half the price of the cheapest version of the PS3.
The Japanese video game company aims to attract new audiences to gaming with the lower price and a revolutionary motion-sensitive controller.

MySpace, YouTube targeted by Universal Music Group
YouTube and MySpace may be next on the music industry's hit list, according to Universal Music Group CEO Doug Morris. Labelling them "copyright infringers," Morris said that the label has plans to deal with the popular web sites and their hosting of infringing videos.
MySpace is the trendiest social networking site around, while YouTube has come from nowhere to become one of the most popular destinations on the Internet. While copyrighted material is peripheral to the success of MySpace, the plethora of snippets from popular TV shows like The Colbert Report and The Daily Show along with countless music videos on YouTube has made it a very high-traffic site.
